Beginning Belly Dance for all ages!
Come join the fun!!!

This ancient dance form is a great way to not only get exercise, but to improve flexibility and coordination, express yourself, and become a part of an exciting, growing dance community. Unwind and escape from the everyday with exotic Mid-Eastern music, veils, and jingly coins. This is a beginner class, teaching and building on the fundamental movements used in Belly dance. We'll take it slow through the movement breakdowns, then turn it up a bit to get dancing!
Feel free to wear comfortable workout-type clothing, and expect to be barefoot. It helps if you wear a midriff-bearing or form-fitting top, so I can see how you're moving and give you suggestions if you have questions about a movement. Sports bras are fine, or if you have a festive gypsy tie top or comfortable halter top - that works, too! But rest assured that showing your belly is not required. Shorts (the baggy/loose type) are not recommended, since we will do some stretching and bending moves.
